"I'd like to share Christ, but I just don't know how!"
When God gives you an opportunity, just smile, pull out a copy of If We Never Meet Again or What If No One Warned You? and say, "Here's something I think you'll enjoy reading!"

"And they said one to another, Did not our heart burn within us, while he talked with us by the way, and while he opened unto us the scriptures?" Luke 24:32
There is no experience we can have that can compare with that which arises from an encounter with God, when we are engrossed with the whole of our personality in communion and intimate fellowship with God. When we are lost in the wonder of His majesty as He reveals afresh His love and grace, the might of His power, the compassion of His heart, and His desire to fill the whole of our being with the adequacy of Christ. Whatever the burden of our heart, or the anxiety of our soul, being in the "secret place of His tabernacle" so transforms our entire being that we come away, as did these disciples, and say, "Did not our heart burn within us?"
I think this is in essence what David meant when he wrote, "Be still, and know that I am God." Let His presence completely consume our thoughts, attitudes, motives, and our entire being. Let God reveal Himself to us: Who He is, how He wants to fill our lives to overflowing with His attributes to bring us to that place where there is nothing between our soul and our Savior, so that the Holy Spirit can flow freely and fully in and through us. This was the experience of these two disciples on the way to Emmaus "as he opened...the scriptures." At His appointed time we read, "Their eyes were opened and they knew Him." We can be involved in spiritual endeavor and not know the reality of His presence, as did these disciples. It was when they "sat at meat with them, their eyes were opened!" Nothing can compare with "having our eyes opened by Him and unto Him." The lives of these disciples were never the same! The Scriptures say, "They arose and returned at once to Jerusalem saying, the Lord is risen indeed." They were triumphant and rejoicing in their new relationship with Christ.
This was the experience Job had. He said, after all he went through, "I have heard of thee by the hearing of the ear, but now mine eye seeth thee." When God gave His covenant to Abraham, we read, "Abraham fell on his face and God talked with him." When God spoke to Elijah in a still small voice, we read, "And when Elijah heard it, he wrapped his face in his mantle." When God renewed the Ten Commandments to Israel, "Moses made haste and bowed his head toward the earth and worshiped." When Isaiah saw the Lord seated on the throne, he said, "Woe is me, for I am undone; for I am a man of unclean lips." These men had an encounter with God that changed their lives forever! They saw themselves in the light of God's holiness, in the shadow of His mighty power, in the revelation of WHO HE WAS, and there were radical changes in their lives. They now were humble, submissive, watchful, receptive, and responsive to God's plan and purpose for their lives. They now lived under His sovereign lordship.
Like these godly men, we too, can have an encounter with the Lord. With an open heart and a quiet receptive spirit, they listened as He spoke and revealed to them the Scriptures. We need to "come apart" and let HIM "open our eyes" and reveal unto us WHO HE IS! We too, will have a burning heart within!
